On top of a locked cupboard

Is a hare

Its ears are
nothing special , hardly longer than its tail

Which is really just a tuft , but its legs are

Long , longer , longest ,

 very long - but not

long enough , or it would not be stuffed

In the museum - on top of the locked cupboard, there.
